WELWYN Garden City FC's league encounter with Cockfosters at Herns Lane was called off yesterday (Saturday).

The Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division clash was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Joint City bosses Del Deanus and Steve Newing will be hoping their club's playing surface dries up quickly as WGC are due to host Biggleswade United on Tuesday night.

The Citizens have two matches against Biggleswade sides lined up for the coming week.

For they travel to Biggleswade Town in the league on Saturday.
