THE Citizens crashed to their heaviest defeat of the season on Saturday when they were thumped 8-0 away by Beaconsfield SYCOB in the SML Premier Division.

Here's how the goals flew into the net at Holloways Park, making it an unhappy start to the year for City.

-0: Adrian Sear opens the scoring for Beaconsfield SYCOB on 20 minutes with a fortunate deflected effort.

-0: Stuart Swift's volley somehow beats City goalkeeper Simon Bartley with just over 30 minutes gone.

-0: Oliver Godwin nets the first of his hat-trick just a few minutes later.

-0: Arron Lennon beats the City defence for pace and slots home the final goal of a miserable first half for the Citizens.

-0: WGC captain Simon Bartley gives away a penalty and Stuart Swift scores his second of the day from the spot for the home side.

-0: Not to be outdone, Oliver Godwin also collects his second of the game just before the hour mark.

-0: Striker Michael Currie piles on the agony for City with the Rams' seventh goal in the closing minutes.

-0: There's still time for winger Oliver Godwin to round off a fine afternoon's work with his hat-trick goal and SYCOB's eighth of the game.
