Herts Charity Shield Semi-Final

Welwyn Garden City 2 Oxhey Jets 1

A half-time rollicking from management duo Dave Lewis and Graham Willis was the catalyst for WGC to come from behind to deservedly wrap up a Herts Charity Shield final place against Tring Athletic.

The Citizens came from behind to beat Oxhey Jets 2-1 in the semi at Herns Lane last night (Thursday).

Craig Tomkins levelled things in the 65th minute and match-winner Jackson Fossi completed the turnaround with a cool strike in the 79th.

The Jets had taken the lead in a scrappy first half, with centre half and captain Mark Ayres powering home a header from an inswinging corner.

The final will take place on Tuesday, April 29 at the County Ground in Letchworth.
