WGC secured their Molten Spartan South Midlands Premier status with a magnificent fightback to draw 3-3 away at Holmer Green last night (Tuesday).

City were 3-0 down after only 35 minutes, but an inspired half-time tactical switch from manager Dave Lewis saw the Citizens stun the hosts with three goals in the final 15 minutes.

Craig Tomkins headed home on 76 minutes, Jake Parratt scored with a penalty after handball from a Holmer Green defender on 86, and Adam Purcell smashed home in stoppage time to seal a remarkable comeback.

After the game Dave Lewis praised his players, and said they "deserved all the credit."

Dan Griggs was man of the match in what was a virtuoso performance from the midfield enforcer.
