Chelsea’s Scotland U19 defender Alex Davey has signed for Sky Bet League One Scunthorpe United on loan until January 3.

Davey, who is from Welwyn Garden City and played for Welwyn Pegasus as a youngster, has yet to make a first team appearance for Jose Mourinho’s first team, but is a regular in the Stamford Bridge club’s reserve side.

The 20-year-old could make his senior league debut on Saturday as Scunthorpe visit Barnsley.
