CHAMPIONS Lemsford Youth Under-11s were beaten 1-0 away at Potters Bar United in the Mid Herts Rural Minors League Division Two.

United were in no mood to be intimidated by a Lemsford side chasing a 100 per cent win record in the league this season.

The hosts held their own with a packed defence in the first half.

Lemsford came close when a Sam Robson header was well saved by keeper James Mason.

The deadlock was broken in the second half when Jamie Holton slotted in for Potters Bar.

A reliable Lemsford back four, which included man-of-the-match Oli Coletta, saw them through without conceding again.

Lemsford rang the changes, with half an eye on their Shield Final later this month, but Bar held to send Youth to their first league defeat.
