Hatfield Town chairman Chris Maloney is to leave the SSML Division One club.
Maloney, who took on the role in January 2012 stepping up from secretary after predecessor Chris O’Connor departed, posted his decision on Facebook.
He said: “It is with a very heavy heart I have taken the decision to announce that I will be stepping down at the end of the year as chairman of Hatfield Town.
“I will obviously relinquish my responsibility sooner if somebody steps in beforehand.
“This decision has been a very tough one to take, but I feel I have done my very best for this club for nearly six years now and feel I can do no more and the time might be right for a change.”
During March 2015 Maloney also said he would leave the Blueboys, but remained after a change of heart at the end of that season.
