Following Hatfield Town's final day 5-3 win at Sun Postal Sports, chairman Ted Collie said: "We have had a really wonderful season and I am so proud of all the lads who were led by Trevor Lloyd and his dedicated team.

"Trevor never fails to amaze me, considering this is only his second season in management, his reading of the game and unique man-management skills are second to none.

"I hope the promotion issue is sorted soon, there is no doubt that this team deserves a chance in a higher level."

There is a real buzz at the club following a successful season in Division One of the South Midlands Football League.

Trevor Lloyd has instilled a winning-feeling at the Herns Lane-based club after taking them from the Herts Senior County League to possible promotion to the South Midlands Premier in just two years.
