KGV Seniors came out on top in the Welwyn Hatfield Sunday Football League Division Two League Cup final played at Welwyn Playing Fields on Sunday against Hatfield Seniors.

Chris Boyce scored a first half hat-trick, and finished the game with five goals, in a 6-3 win for King George.

Boyce was unstoppable causing mayhem whenever he got the ball, James Walker, who superb in midfield, scored the other.

Hatfield Seniors made a great game of it with KGV keeper Barry McCann pulling off some fine saves to keep his side in the running.

Backed up by veteran Vinny Keeley anchoring midfield and Matt Capon, and Tom Cadwell’s endless running, Hatfield Seniors couldn’t get control too often.

Hatfield Seniors did score through a brilliant individual goal from Aaron Puleston who netted following a solo run and finish from midfield.

Curtis Warner and Callum Britton were also on the scoresheet for the Hatfield outfit.

It was an entertaining final, played the right way with both sides really going for it.
