Goals from Marc Arnott, Jimmy Cook and new signing Humzan Khan helped Hatfield Town return to winning ways last night (Tuesday).

Having been beaten 3-2 at 10-man Risborough Rangers on Saturday, the Blueboys turned the tables, seeing off Broadfields United by the same scoreline at the Gosling Stadium.

Arnott put Hatfield ahead on 27 minutes and that’s how it stayed until midway through the second half.

Cook’s spot kick, a second in as mamy games, doubled Town’s advantage.

With eight minutes remaining the visitors, boasting just one win so far this season, halved the deficit via a free-kick.

Khan popped up with his first for the club on 87 minutes to give Hatfield breathing space once more.

A further consolation deep into injury time sent pulses racing but Kev Pearman’s side held on for a valuable three points.

The win sees them climb to seventh with a game in hand on four of the six teams above them.
