EDGWARE striker Kevin Chakaodza scored the only goal of the game as his side won 1-0 against Potters Bar Town.

The two clubs had already played each other three times this season, so Saturday's clash was always expected to be a close encounter.

Bar started slowly as the Wares took the game to them. Forward Adam Wallace came close for the home side but his shot was pushed behind by debutant keeper Rhys Madden.

The Scholars were restricted to occasional forays forward.

Five minutes before the break Edgware scored.

Chakaodza slotted past Madden from a Stuart Blackburne cross.

The Scholars played better in the second half and had more possession.

However, they failed to find a leveller against the Christmas league leaders.
