A hat-trick from Marc Arnott helped Welwyn Borough make it four wins from four with a 4-2 win over Sarratt Reserves in HSCL Reserves & Development Division Two.

Former Welwyn Garden City captain Darryl Smith got the fourth.

The first half was a ding-dong affair with the two teams sharing four goals.

Sarratt took the lead but Borough levelled shortly after when Higgins’ through ball was fired in by Arnott.

Borough went ahead just before half-time when new signing Craig Arnott found his brother but Sarratt ensured parity before the whistle.

After some strong words from manager Simon Braine at the interval, Welwyn came out strongly and retook the lead two minutes in with the Arnott brothers combining again.

Smith sealed the win with time running out after a pass from hat-trick hero Arnott, the Stevenage Fencing Services-sponsored man of the match.
