In a real relegation six-pointer, Hatfield Town fell to a 2-0 away defeat to Stotfold last night (Tuesday).

The result sees Stotfold extend their points advantage over Hatfield to 15 at the bottom of the SSML Premier Division.

Nyasha Sagwete opened the scoring in the fourth minute, and at half-time it was the hosts who held this slender advantage.

The second period saw Sean Herr extend Stotfold’s lead, and that’s how it stayed to inflict a 21st league defeat of the season on Neil Ewing’s Hatfield side.

The Blueboys remain second bottom in the division on 10 points from 27 games played. London Lions are the basement boys on six points, but they have played two games less.
