Archant

Four goals from Janiece Allen helped Welwyn Pegasus Ladies Azures to a 6-3 victory at home to Shefford & Campton.

A hat-trick in the first half put Pegasus 3-2 up at half-time and her fourth produced a two-goal lead for the third time in the match.

Another Shefford goal once again reduced the gap but from that point Welwyn took hold of the game by the scruff of the neck.

A ball from Sevi Djemal found Fiona Davies for her first goal for the club and debutant Anja Fletchman-Brown finished off the scoring with a powerful shot into the top corner.

Next week Azures are in cup action away to Hoddesdon Owls.

Pegasus’s U18s recorded a superb 7-2 win at Royston Town, keeping their 100 per cent record alive.

George Ariss netted a hat-trick, one smashed home on the volley, with Josh Manhood, Jack Kimber, Fin Shearer and Tyler Edwards also on target.
