MATCH-WINNER Jackson Fossi spoke of his delight after his goal sent WGC through to the final of the Herts Charity Shield.

Fossi netted City's winner in their 2-1 semi success over Oxhey Jets on Thursday night.

The Citizens will now face Tring Athletic for the county silverware.

"I am really, really pleased to get the goal today, and I think the whole team deserved it as we worked very hard tonight," said the Barnet Youth player after the cup tie.

"I thought if we kept on playing as we were second half, we could go on to win the game, and I'm happy for all the boys."

Fossi has put in some stirring performances over the last few games, which have impressed caretaker WGC boss Dave Lewis.

"Jackson was again brilliant today, and has been for some time now," said Lewis.

"He does a job in the middle, and thoroughly deserved his goal

"He was certainly man of the match for me."

Fossi is set to stay on at WGC for next season, which will be a huge boost to whoever is named as manager on a full-time basis as he can play in a number of positions.

But he is in no doubt where he wants to play.

"Yes, I can play up front but for me I love playing centre midfield. It's definitely my favourite," said Fossi.

And after another all-action performance against Oxhey, few could begrudge him his choice!
