Taking place at Cheshunt Park, the WGC-based athletics club had 45 finishers in total, 29 men and 16 women.

Neil Hume was the first man to finish in 21st while Becca Hayden was the first woman in 149th.

Elsewhere three GCRs took on the Stort 30 Ultra, a 30-mile trail race which follows the course of the River Stort to Rye House before returning along the same route.

And despite a chilly headwind on the return leg, Alan Routledge managed to finish as first MV55 and 38th overall in a time of four hours 35 minutes eight seconds.

Ricardo Gregorio was 60th and Dave Heal, for whom this was his third ultra this year, was 121st.

He described the run as having a “great atmosphere, camaraderie and unique medal”.
