Final ball drama as Potters Bar pip North Mymms in 20/20

The cricket season got under way with the Readers County 20/20 tournament qualifying stages.

North Mymms staged Group D and the hosts were beaten to a place in the final four with Potters Bar’s Teddy Duke hitting a four off the last ball in the final.

Steve Gale took 4-19 as Mymms finished on 117-9. top-scoring for the hosts was Hamza Quyum (36) and Andy Lewis (30).

Gale then went on to hit 30 in his innings with a fast-paced 25 from Thilan Walallawita setting up the two-wicket success.

Earlier in the day North Mymms saw off Harpenden thanks to 28 off 30 balls from Dan Millard.

Potters Bar had beaten Botany Bay in the other game.
