VODAFONE McLaren Mercedes will appear before an extraordinary meeting of the FIA World Motor Sport Council in Paris today (Wednesday).

Lewis Hamilton's team face five charges in breach of Article 151c of the International Sporting Code.

Today's hearing comes after the F1 world champion from Herts and McLaren officials misled race stewards following the season-opening Australian Grand Prix and again before the Malaysian race the following week.

McLaren could face being kicked out of the F1 World Championship, suspended from races, docked points or a heavy fine after giving untrue statements to stewards.
