Welwyn Garden City’s Alison Waters was part of the England’s women’s squash team to be crowned 2015 European Team Champions for the 37th time out of a possible 38 after a 2-1 win over France.

Warwickshire’s Sarah-Jane Perry kicked off proceedings at the final in Denmark, clinching a 11-4, 11-6, 2-11, 11-6 win against Coline Aumard.

Waters, the world number three and 2015 Welwyn Hatfield Sports Person of the Year, lost to Camille Serme 3-1, but Emma Beddoes won the decider 11-5, 11-5 11-4 to give England the crown again.

In the men’s final an upset saw France grasp an unexpected victory against the top seeds England.
