Herts Mavericks’ England ace Layla Guscoth will miss out on the Netball World Cup in Australia.

Due to circumstances surrounding her medical degree, Guscoth, who was outstanding in defence for the Hatfield-based Mavericks last term, is now unavailable for selection and will not be considered for the final squad of 12 to be confirmed next month.

Her Mavericks team-mates Lindsay Keable, Sophia Candappa, Sasha and Kadeen Corbin remain in contention for a place in Tracey Neville’s squad.
