GARDEN City Runner David Vaughan has been recognised in yet another sport.

World and European age group Duathlon champion Vaughan has been awarded second place in the Duathlete of the Year category at the 220 Triathlon Awards.

This caps an exciting pre-season for the athlete who has just joined the Herts-based Shorter Rochford - Exclusive Ranges racing team for the 2009 season.

David joins athletes World Quadrathlon champion Dan Corner and Hatfield policeman and British Elite and national Age Group Duathlon champion Dave Mitchinson.

Also on the highly successful multisport team are Darren Treadaway, Lawrence Harding, Dave Candy, Leigh Harvey and Rob Engers.

They will race alongside the long established time trial and road race cycling team.

Shorter Rochford Cycles have been established for over 35 years as a bike shop in North London and have long been active in the racing scene, involved in sponsoring some of the finest cyclists in the country.

They have experience of sponsoring riders at every level, from world record-holders and elite road riders to cyclo-cross and time trial, as well as being active in multisport disciplines such as duathlon and triathlon.
