BROCKET Hall female golfer Charlie Douglass claimed a double success at the Hacienda del Alamo Women's Winter Golf Festival in Spain.

Charlie, 19, a scratch player from the Welwyn-based club, claimed both the Hacienda del Alamo Ladies' Open and the Murcia Ladies' Open titles at the Murcia resort.

The teenager won both her titles by the margin of just one shot.

She finished ahead of Warwickshire's Charlotte Dalton, of Ladbrook Park, in the first event while Surrey's Ellis Keenan, of Sunning-dale, was a further stroke behind.

In the second championship, she came out on top after a tight finish with English girl international Holly Clyburn, a plus-one player at Woodhall Spa, and Charlotte Dalton.

After the event Herts county player Charlie gave notice that this could be her final season of amateur golf.

She said: "Much as I would like to come back to next year's festival, because I think it is a great idea, I hope to go to the Ladies European Tour School, turn pro and be playing golf for a living in 2010."

Charlie was not the only Brit to have two wins at the competition.

Dorset 16-year-old Hayley Davis captured both of the U16 girls' titles that were on offer at the festival.
