DATCHWORTH'S Gold team lost 35-15 away at Northaw and Cuffley in their Division Three match in the East Herts Bowls League.

They nearly came away empty-handed, with one triple getting well and truly beaten, while the other claimed a creditable draw.

Neither triple was as strong as they could be and looking at the shots scored, with only one shot scored on 24 out of the 36 ends played, it could be said to have been a fairly tight match.

Bob Waller, David Thompson and Skip Steve Chamberlain would not agree as they only managed to win two ends as they were the triple that were well beaten 22-2.

The triple that drew was that of Jim Whittle, Phil Fox and Clive Hodson-Smith, playing out of his natural position at skip.

They were the only team to score more than two when they picked up a four on the 16th end in what ended as a 13-13 draw.
