DATCHWORTH'S run of bad results in the Stevenage Mixed League continued after Letchworth Garden City visited Turkey Farm and went away with an 83-71 success.

June Russell, Derrick Elms, Basil Briars and skip Brian Gilbert were the hosts' only winning rink.

Despite losing the first two ends, they were 10-2 up after seven and then held on to the lead until the end, triumphing 21-18.

Edie Alden, Jim Russell, Steve Arnold and skip David Wright got off to a good start, including picking up a seven on the third end.

However, they went into the tea break 15-14 down after they dropped nine shots on the preceding three ends.

They never recovered after that, going down 25-20.

Les Elms, Jenny Thompson, Jeff Nash and skip Steve Chamberlain had a bad first half, going in at the tea break 14-4 down.

After tea they shared the ends but lost 23-13.

Things were not much better for David Thompson, Peggy Lewis, John Alden and Jim Adams.

They went behind after three ends and did not catch up until the 18th end.

They levelled again, at 17-all, after 21 ends, but as league rules dictate an extra end was played and they lost that by a shot.
