THE weekly Welwyn Track League sponsored by Plowman Craven Associates began with a flourish at the Gosling Sports Park last Friday evening.

Despite the threat of showers, there was a large turnout in all the categories at the WGC track.

The Senior A racing was dominated by top British racer Tony Gibb, of Plowman Craven, who together with Agiskoviner rider Joel Stewart, lapped the entire field in the main 10 mile race.

Welwyn Wheelers featured in many of the events in the youth races.

The Youth A races yielded three wins for Dan Snow, with the other places taken by Tom Gallagher and Andrew Street.

Meanwhile, the Youth C races were all taken by Welwyn Wheelers riders, with particular success for Chloe Evans, Bethany Hayward and Sophie Scott, who all had wins.

A large group of Welwyn riders took part in the racing at the Ford test track at Dunton in Essex on Sunday.

Once again the youth riders had a very strong showing with Tom and Will Street both taking first place in their age groups.

Joe Fry and Nick Brown were second and third respectively in their category. Bethany Hayward and Chloe Evans also took second and third to continue their recent run of cycling successes.
