TWO Times Territory athletes claimed cross-country gold for England in the Aviva Home Counties International.

England won the team event thanks to Herts Phoenix runner Neilson Hall winning the race and Potters Bar's Neil Gamester coming third.

Their team-mates Gareth Raven and Darren Deed were fourth and fifth.

England dominated the top finishing places in the event at the Faenol Estate near Bangor, North Wales.

Hall, brother of Herts Phoenix GB international Elizabeth Hall, clocked 33 minutes 35 seconds to take the individual gold.

Behind him in second place was Scotland's Alistair Hay with 33 mins 41 secs.

Bronze went to Dame Alice Owen School's PE teacher Neil with his time of 33 mins 47 secs on his England debut.

Then came the duo of Raven and Deed.

England's superiority in the race saw them take home the team trophy beating their counterparts from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

It has been a good season for Shaftesbury Barnet's Gamester, he also won bronze at the National Indoor Championship at 3,000 metres.

He was selected for England after a fine run in the televised Inter Counties Cross-Country Championship held in Nottingham last month.
