A stalwart of Potters Bar Bowls Club has been honoured at a county-wide awards evening.

Graham Marriner was presented with a Lifetime Achievement gong at the Hertfordshire Services to Sport Awards in recognition of his dedication to bowls that stretches back over 20 years.

Marriner holds four presidential roles across the county with positions at St Albans & District Bowling Association, Eastern Counties BA and Herts Bowls running alongside his club duties.

He is in this 14th year as The Walk-based club’s secretary and has also held two terms as club captain.

His service to his sport also includes 10 years as chairman of the Bowls Development Alliance and national tutor and assessor of bowlers aspiring to become level one and level two coaches.

Herts Sports Partnership described Graham’s contribution to bowls as “exemplary and fully deserving of the Lifetime Achievement Award”.
