HATFIELD Crusaders fielded three Saracens Herts League sides for the first time in the club's history on Saturday.

The Hatfield club's newly-formed 3rd XI got their Division 14 season off to a flying start with an eight-wicket win over Sawbridgeworth's 6th XI.

Thanks to an Awards for All Lottery grant awarded to Crusaders this year, the club have also arranged for double nets costing £6,200 to be erected at Roe Hill Hall for the both club and local community to use, as the nets will be left out.

This is a huge layout for the club and one that will not only help the seniors but also the colts and any budding players in the area.
