Two Brocket Hall Golf Club members have qualified for the 2017 Challenge Tour - the second-tier men's professional circuit in Europe.
Mark Laskey and Tom Shadbolt both secured their passage onto the tour after solid showings at the weekend to ensure they finished in the top five in their respective tour standings.
Welshman Laskey finished fifth overall in the EuroPro Tour after claiming tied 16th at the Desert Springs event in Almeria, while Shadbolt took fourth in the Alps Tour Order of Merit following 14th place in the tour grand final at Miglianico Golf & Country Club in Italy.
Laskey had a nervy final day in Spain, knowing that a bad round could see him slip up.
However, he battled to a final score of six-under-par, enough to beat Teignmouth golfer Billy Hemstock to the final Challenge Tour spot.
Laskey told Welwyn Hatfield Times: “It feels great to get my Challenge Tour card after just missing out last year and I can now look forward with anticipation to working towards achieving my full European Tour card in 2018 .
“All the hard work has paid off and I’m pleased with a solid season which contained a win at the Oxfordshire, second place at Caversham Heath and third at Burhill.
“I’m now looking forward to European Tour School especially knowing I have my Challenge Tour card secured already.”
His club-mate was equally as thankful.
Shadbolt wrote on Twitter: “What a week/year. Achieved something I’ve worked so hard for. I’d like to say thank you to everyone that’s supported me.
“Lastly and most importantly @g_whittle and my family thank your for your love and support.”
