BRITISH Cycling head coach Shane Sutton will ride into Hatfield for a special talk shop.

He will speak at the Herts Coaching Conference, to be held at the Hertfordshire Sports Village in Hatfield on Sunday, February 22.

The Australian has recently been named as Coach of the Year at the UK Coaching Awards.

Shane has been a key figure behind the dominance enjoyed on the track by the UK's cycling stars at the Beijing Olympics.

The straight-talking Aussie is recognised as the heart and soul of British cycling.

He still cycles many miles on a daily basis and is a former Commonwealth gold medallist and Tour of Britain stage winner.

Other speakers at the Hatfield event include former GB swimming coach Hammy Smith and former Olympic coach and technical director for the Oscar winning movie, Chariots of Fire, Tom McNab.

Also set to speak are leading Australian physical educationalists Alan Launder and Wendy Piltz; and tennis coach Tim Newenham, who has previously helped Tim Henman.
