THERE'S a real buzz at the club at the moment."

That was the frank assessment from WGC Boxing Club coach Martin Calvert as he looks forward to hosting another live show at the Gosling Sports Park.

The event, scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 21, is set to once again unite the town after the successes of the club's first show for over 30 years, back in October 2008.

Calvert said: "The lads are all on their training programmes now and they're all looking forward to the big night.

"We have 21 bouts scheduled, and there's a real buzz at the club at the moment.

"Everything is in place this time around as we know what to expect from when we held the last show.

"All the lads are doing well and looking sharp, and we're just looking forward to getting out there now."

Tickets are on sale for what should be a superb showing of the town's boxing talent.

These can be purchased from the Hyde Sports and Social Club on Hollybush Lane, or from the garage which is based at Hall Grove in WGC.

Prices for admission to what will be a great night of ring action are £10 adults and £5 under-18s.

Calvert added: "Tickets are selling really well, and we anticipate we will have about 800 people in total at the show.

"Last time we had over 600 people turn up, but we are confident we can do even better this time around."

Club officers have recently invited boxers who are set to fight at the Gosling event to train at the Hollybush Lane-based gym.

Fighters from Cheshunt and Luton have been welcomed by all at WGC Boxing Club.
