HATFIELD boxer Billy Joe Saunders is well prepared for his professional debut, according to a man who knows all about the sporting circuit.

Earlier this month, 19-year-old Saunders, who lives on the Holwell travellers' site on the A414 joined forces with world-class boxing trainer Jimmy Tibbs.

Tibbs, who has trained a multitude of world champions including former WBC world super-midleweight champion Nigel Benn and Frank Bruno, ex-WBC world heavyweight champion said: "Billy Joe had quite a professional style to start with, so I've not had to change him too much.

"He's got an amazing talent and I'm really excited about Saturday night, because the public are going to see a very special boxer."

The action is set to kick off around 6pm on Saturday at the Birmingham National Indoor Arena, with the Sky Sports One showing beginning at 10pm.
