Former Welwyn Garden City Boxing Club amateur Mitchell Smith showed that he’s recovered from his hand injury with a stunning win over previously unbeaten Welshman Mark Evans on Saturday.

Backed by roaring crowd that lifted the roof at London’s York Hall, the Baby Faced Assassin put on a devastating performance to stop Evans inside two rounds.

In the opening round Smith mixed up his shots to body and head well, landing clean with some lead right hands from his orthodox stance.

In the second, a nice left hook dropped Evans with Smith reigning in with more blows and referee Jeff Hinds stepping in to give an eight-count.

With Hinds letting Evans fight on, Smith steamed in again with another big right-hand to drop Evans again and after another eight count, Hinds waved it over.

Smith is one of the most exciting fighters in the country at the moment, giving fans real value for money, and this year is set to be a big one for him.
