Hatfield boxing world champion Billy Joe Saunders will make a first defence of his WBO world middleweight title at the end of April.

An announcement made at a press conference at London’s O2 this afternoon (Monday), in the surroundings of the new Muhammad Ali Exhibition, revealed the 26-year-old will take on 31-year-old Ukrainian Max Bursak at the Copper Box Arena.

Saunders won the title with a stunning performance over previous champion Andy Lee in December and now embarks on his 160lb WBO reign that could to a unification showdown with division king Gennady Glolovkin.
