Russia’s Matt Korobov and Ireland’s Andy Lee meet in Las Vegas on Saturday night to box for the vacant WBO World middleweight title.

Hatfield’s European, British and Commonwealth champion Billy Joe Saunders, who is in line to challenge the winner next year for the world crown, has given his view on the clash.

The 25-year-old unbeaten fighter said: “Boxing is boxing, good luck to whoever wins out of both of them.

“It’s not who I want to win, it’s who deserves to win, who trains the hardest and who deserves it, but you have got to go with Korobov, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Lee takes him.

“Lee has a very good range.

“He [Korobov] hasn’t come through how he was an amateur, he lived in Russia then went to America, after a bit of fame it maybe got a little bit to him and maybe he’s take his eye off the ball a little bit, but it’s for a world title so they will both be geed up for it.”
