TEENAGE British boxer Billy Joe Saunders can't wait to step in the ring at his first Olympic Games.
Hatfield welterweight Billy Joe is the youngest member of the eight-strong GB team at the Beijing 2008 Games. He turns 19 at the end of August.
"I just can't wait to get in there and get the job done," he said today at the British team's preparation camp in Macau.
"I'm very confident. The only person who can stand in my way is me.
"I've got to get my head down and keep focussed."
Saunders, who lives on a travellers' site on the edge of Hatfield, says he doesn't feel under any pressure ahead of the biggest competition of his career.
"I'm only 18-years-old, I'm not going to have any pressure on me at all," said the Times Territory fighter.
"This will be a slight learning curve for me; I'm going to take it as it comes."
He added: "I'm not going to look for a medal. I'm going to let the medal look for me."
Saunders also predicted his British team-mates will be hard to defeat.
"We're going to be a very, very hard squad to beat. We've got some good quality boxers," he said.
The draw for the boxing competition at the Beijing Olympics has been brought forward a day to Friday, August 8 - the day before the boxing programme gets underway.
