Anyone turning up late to The Walk on Saturday would have missed Potters Bar rapid-fire victory over Letchworth Garden City in the Saracens Herts Cricket League Premier Division.

Bar had romped to a nine-wicket success long before the clock struck three as they completed a match for the first time this year.

They lost the toss but instantly made Letchworth’s decision to bat first a bad one as they rattled through their line-up in double-quick time.

They had the visitors all out for 81 in 28 overs, Sam Kendle and Harry Aitkenhead top-scoring on 11.

James Scott took the most wickets with three, although the rest were shared among Jigar Mehta, Teddy Duke, Thilan Walallawita and Luke Chapman.

Steve Gale was the only man out but Harrison Palmer and Scott made light work of the run chase, getting to their target in the 14th over.

Bar are now fourth with a trip to league leaders Radlett on Saturday.
