Hatfield’s European boxing champion Billy Joe Saunders claimed a split points decision over fierce domestic rival Chris Eubank Jnr at the ExCeL London.
Saturday’s grudge match doubled up as an eliminator for the WBO Middleweight Championship belt and saw Saunders edge to victory 115-114, 116-113, 115-113.
The two 25-year-olds had been waging a war of words, such was Saunders’ confidence that he was the better fighter, he put his European, Commonwealth and British titles on the line to settle the dispute.
Both went into the Bad Blood show having unbeaten records, Saunders now boasts 21 victories from 21 fights and his opponent from Brighton suffered his first loss in 19 bouts.
