Potters Bar Cricket Club rattled up a huge score in their SHCL Premier Division clash at Bishop's Stortford - but were frustratingly held to a draw.

Bar made 319-6 from their 60 overs after being put into bat but 137 not out from Stortford’s Dominic Chatfield helped the hosts survive until the close of play.

The visiting batsemen were in fine form with the first six all reaching double figures, and most going on to good scores.

Skipper James Scott top-scored with 88 while Drew Hawley made 70 and Steve Gale 61.

Their bowlers then started with a fierce opening spell, reducing Stortford to 13-2 and 96-5.

But they were unable to dislodge Chatfield who faced 157 balls and hot 17 fours and a six in his total.

They finally finished on 248-7 after 59 overs.

Paul McGee was the pick of the Bar bowlers, claiming 4-49.

Potters Bar host league leaders WGC on Saturday.
