WELWYN Garden City sprinter Jodie Williams is one of 10 nominations for the 2010 BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

Jodie, aged 17, won gold in the 100m and silver in the 200m at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Moncton, Canada earlier this year.

The Herts Phoenix athlete is unbeaten in the whole of her 100m career and was also unbeaten for 200m until her silver in Canada.

Last year Williams was runner-up in the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year, which was won by diver Tom Daley.

The 2010 ceremony is in Birmingham on Sunday (December 19)

Jodie’s category is awarded by the BBC in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust.
