POTTERS Bar badminton starlet Amy George has completed a national title double.

The St Giles Primary School pupil claimed two gold medals at the Badminton England Home Counties competition in Bracknell, Berkshire.

After a difficult draw in the Under-11 singles competition, South Mimms schoolgirl Amy won her box, which included one of the nationally ranked top seeded players in the age group.

The Swifts Junior Badminton Club member, trained by former England player Kelly Matthews, continued her way through to the semi-final.

Up against a player from Dorset, she comfortably won by two games 11-5, 11-5 to reach the final.

There she met a familiar face. In the final Amy beat Herts county team-mate and fellow Potters Bar player Isabel Hatt 11-8, 11-5.

Amy and Little Heath Primary pupil Isabel then combined to claim the Under-11 girls' doubles gold.

During April of last year, Amy gained sponsorship from VICTOR, a badminton, tennis and squash international manufacturer.
