BROOKMANS Park golfer Laurence Allen came third in the Nick Faldo Commemoration Jug at WGC.

Allen hit a round of 73 in the morning and followed that up with a 69 for a total of 142.

The Times Territory man finished behind winner John Kemp of John O'Gaunt and runner-up Tom Shadbolt from Mid Herts.

It was the second time Bedfordshire county player Kemp had won the Jug.

He also collected it two years ago.

This time around he opened with a 72 and then his 65 gave him a three under par total of 137.

That score ensured him victory by four strokes in the 21st year of the tournament.

Second-placed Shadbolt had rounds of 71 and 70 to finish behind Kemp but narrowly ahead of Allen by a shot.

Nick Faldo's parents George and Joyce attended the competition.
