The nominations for the Welwyn Hatfield Sports Awards 2014 have been studied meticulously, and the winners have been decided.

But you will have to wait until Thursday, February 13, to find out the results to be announced at a ceremony at Campus West.

The judging panel convened at the council offices in WGC to sift through over 70 nominations for 12 categories.

Chair of the panel, Youth and Sport Partnership Manager at Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council Matt Rayner, is pleased with how the process has gone.

“We were once again amazed with the sheer number of nominations that came in for the Sports Awards,” he said.

“The decision process is never an easy one but we were extremely fortunate to have some experts in the field of community and school sport on the panel which made the job a little easier.

“Welwyn Hatfield boasts a huge amount of talent across many different sports and it is always difficult to choose a winner but as all sports participants know there is only ever one winner eventually.

“However the awards evening is ultimately about celebrating every moment of 2013 and thanking everyone who is a part of community sport not just our award winners.”
