World number five Alison Waters beat Yorkshire’s Jenny Duncalf 3-0 to book her place in the National Squash Championships 2015 semi-final.

Welwyn Garden City’s defending champion Waters, who is yet to drop a game in the Championships, managed to come from game ball down to outpower Duncalf 12-10, 11-5, 11-9 in a match that lasted just over half an hour in Manchester.

The 30-year-old Commonwealth Games silver and bronze medalist said: “I had to work hard, we have a lot of respect for each other and it was a tough 3-0.

“I’ve had a great few months and I’m feeling really confident at the moment.

“I like to be aggressive in how I play and when it gets tough I try to not get annoyed at myself and take each rally as it comes.

“Hopefully I can carry on my good form throughout the event.”

Waters will meet Sarah-Jane Perry or Fiona Moverley in Saturday’s semi-final (6pm) and if successful could meet top seed Laura Massaro in Sunday’s final (3pm).
