Computer Aided Design (CAD) is used to help design a model car. All measurements are taken into account for when the build of the car is put in motion. CAD designs take a while to complete and are created in programs like CATIA and Solid Edge.

Most Engineering manufacturing companies also use this process, whether it be for tanks, cars or motorbikes, to name a few.
By using CAD, members of the team are able take out virtual tests to see whether their ideas are road-worthy or if their designs can be put into practice.
By doing this in CAD, time is saved, as the designs can be altered on a computer rather than on a real-life project.
