Welwyn United already enjoying success at summer tournaments

Welwyn United have celebrated success at a number of tournaments already this summer.

The club, in its debut year, has clinched titles across Hertfordshire in various age groups.

The triumphant Under-13 DiamondsThe triumphant Under-13 Diamonds (Image: Welwyn United) Last weekend, the Under-13 Diamonds as they romped their way to victory at the Bury Rangers Tournament.

The Under-11 DiamondsThe Under-11 Diamonds (Image: Welwyn United) They were following in the footsteps of the Under-11 Diamonds, who won the Plate final at the Harvesters tournament at the end of May.

The Under-12 DiamondsThe Under-12 Diamonds (Image: Welwyn United) They were quickly joined by the Under-12 Diamonds who also clinched the Plate in their competition.

The team then followed their success at Harvesters by finishing runners-up at the Bishop’s Stortford event, just missing out in the final.

The Under-8 DiamondsThe Under-8 Diamonds (Image: Welwyn United) The same weekend, the Under-8 Diamonds secured the title in their age group at the St Albans City Youth Tournament.

Welwyn United LadiesWelwyn United Ladies (Image: Welwyn United) It was the turn of the Ladies on Sunday as they headed to Bury Rangers as the lowest-ranked team out of 12.

Three wins, a draw, and two losses saw them fall short of the semi-finals, but heading home with a fifth-place finish overall.

The club's walking football teamThe club's walking football team (Image: Welwyn United) In Cheshunt, the walking football team had a tricky day in the Herts Women's Walking Football League.

A bye in their first game was followed by three 0-0 draws and a 1-0 loss.

They'll look to maintain their pressure on the Championship leaders at next month's tournament.
