There was a full fixture list again for Potters Bar Hockey Club but there was no surprise as to what was the pick of the results.

The men's first team had been beaten 6-1 earlier in the season by Broxbourne and the east Herts side had gone on to win another 12 and drawn two more in an unbeaten East League Division One South season.

However, that came to an end of their own turf as Potters Bar maintained their own unbeaten 2024 run with a 2-1 win.

Both goals came from the most valuable player, Mark Turpin.

Broxbourne remain top, six points clear of Upminster in second but Potters Bar are now up to seventh.

The ladies' first team were also playing league leaders in a top-of-the-table clash in Division Seven South West.

And despite creating numerous chances away to Shefford & Sandy, and playing a keeper with no previous experience in the position, they were left disappointed by a 1-0 loss.

The men's second team continued their recent struggles as they went down 5-3 at Cheshunt.

They weren't helped by only having 11 players although Warren Edmondson helped himself to two more goals and Jack Goodwin one.

The thirds, however, continued their surge towards the top of Division Four as they took Royston apart at Dame Alice Owens.

Man of the match Sam Penn got three in the 8-1 win while there was two each for Si Kelly and Aryan Walia.

James Atkinson got the other as they sit second in the table, two points behind leaders Hertford but 11 clear of St Albans in third.

The fourths completed a decent day for the club by winning 4-1 at home to St Albans.

Scott Alexander and Adrian Clargo each got two, the latter getting both from well-worked short corners.
