A new padel tennis centre has launched in Potters Bar.
Located at Old Owens Sports Ground, it is the second site for Padel Project UK, which plans to create 1,000 courts across the nation.
Focussing on a swift expansion, the firm has raised more than £1 million from Arbor Ventures and founders.
The Potters Bar centre offers two floodlit outdoor courts, with the possibility of more in the future.
It also houses a clubhouse selling rackets and balls, a bar, and a Thai eatery.
James Ash, founder and co-CEO of Padel Project UK alongside Tim Foster, said: “We are so excited to be announcing the launch of our newest site.
"The centre in Potters Bar is gaining players quickly, and we strongly believe it will be a thriving sports and social hub in the area.
"The centre is open to everyone and we do not require membership to play."
Padel Project UK, whose first centre at Lytham St Anne's has reached capacity, aims to open 20 plus centres in the next two years under its aggressive roll-out strategy.
Padel tennis, a blend of tennis and squash played in doubles format, is the fastest growing sport in the world and boasts high-profile enthusiasts like David Beckham and Roger Federer.
