A Potters Bar motor sport club have helped a co-operative walk off with a major national title.

The Green Belt Motor Club are part of the 12 strong consortium of clubs, known as the Anglia Motor Sport Club.

The dynamic dozen, who pool their resources to run rallies and other events in the region, were named as club of the year by Motorsport UK.

AMSC also the promotes opportunities for its individual club members to compete, volunteer and socialise as part of the UK’s vibrant motorsport scene.

Green Belt is frequently actively in the thriving organisation and earlier this year it provided the Chief Marshal and all of the marshals for one of the timed to the second special stages, which was run three times, on the Tendring & Clacton Rally.

Membership secretary David Hughes said: "We’re honoured to be part of the organisation that received this award as it recognises the innovative work in East Anglia that we are so proud of.

"It has fuelled our determination to continue developing motorsport and to secure its long-term future."
