The scrap for the Herts Cricket League Division Three B title ended without too much drama - Welwyn Garden City seconds claiming the pot ahead of Tewin.

The two sides came into the final game of the season separated by just one point and both recorded big wins to maintain the status quo.

WGC beat Sandridge by a whopping 227 runs at Digswell Park.

They smashed 344-7 from their 50 overs and then skittled the visitors out for 117, Pat Holding taking 4-20.

Tewin meanwhile won by 84 runs away to Cockfosters.

They batted first and finished on 195, Noah Lipschitz top-scoring with 50 and Ash Patel making 40.

Cockfosters then slumped to 26-4 before Tewin dismissed them all in the 36th over for 111.

Patel returned to take 3-29, Paul Shankster managed 2-8 while there was a wicket each for Dan Smith, Will Pickworth, Jamie Bryce, Josh Crutchett and Vaughn Smith.

Knebworth Park's promotion hopes from Division Two B had vanished with a poor performance last time out but they did finish with a 52-run win over Potters Bar seconds to confirm a third-placed finish.

They started poorly, falling to 10-2 before Charlie Randall and Archie Stephens started the recovery.

Randall made 63 and Stephens 66 while there was 43 for Kobie Richmond as Park got to 275 all out.

Potters Bar made a good fist of the run chase and while Dan Millard (81) was at the crease, they were very much in the hunt.

They got to 213-4 before Amelia Kemp (3-36) had him caught.

Richmond produced his best of the season with 2-34 and dad Alex managed 2-30 as Bar crumbled to 223.

Hatfield Hyde finished the season with the bragging rights, beating neighbours Hatfield & Crusaders at King George V by 89 runs.

The hosts were put into bat and made 224 before bowling their visitors out for 135 in the 29th over.

However, it wasn't enough to stop them being relegated one division, finishing second from bottom, two points behind Old Haberdashers.

They will play in the same division as Bentley Heath next season after their second-place finish and promotion from Division Five A.

They beat Old Owens seconds by 71 runs with Muhammad Inamullah scoring 121 and Anwar Khan 65.

Khan and Babar Ali then took three wickets each to guide Heath home.
